Medication can only be provided by a medical doctor or nurse practitioner, although in a handful of states, including New Mexico, Louisiana, Illinois, and Iowa, psychologists can prescribe medication under a doctor's supervision. Behavior Therapy is typically provided by psychologists or other mental health specialists. Parent Training is typically provided by psychologists, family therapists, or other mental health specialists. School interventions are typically provided by school psychologists and school guidance counselors.
