MGH Clay Center: Ways to Help Your Lonely Teen

Welcome to the MGH Clay Center’s course, Ways to Help Your Lonely Teen. This course will explore conflicts in our lives and how to resolve them in three modules:

  • Module 1: The Caregiver Role – Learning from the Arts and Media
  • Module 2: Engaging Your Child – Applying to Real Life Scenarios
  • Module 3: The Influence of Community – What to Look For, When to Worry, What to do

This course aims to answer this question by providing evidence-based and practical guidance to help parents and caregivers act in ways that can make a substantial difference in the lives of young people and their relationships. Importantly, it will also address ways that you as a parent or caregiver can help to foster social connections for your child, to decrease their risk for loneliness, increase their happiness and wellbeing, and prevent more serious mental health outcomes down the road.
