Gene Beresin,

Executive Director

Gene Beresin, MD, MA, is executive director of The Clay Center for Young Healthy Minds at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), a full professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School (HMS), and senior educator in child and adolescent psychiatry at MGH. He is also co-host of the Clay Center podcast Shrinking It Down: Mental Health Made Simple. As a clinician and educator with 40 years of experience in working with youth, Dr. Beresin has focused on prevention, early intervention and treatment of teens and young adults. He has been a keynote speaker at local and international conferences, and is often called upon by media to weigh in on issues relevant to this vulnerable population and the unique impact of societal issues.

Khadijah Booth Watkins,

Associate Director

Khadijah Booth Watkins, MD, MPH, is associate director of the Clay Center for Young Healthy Minds at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), and the Associate Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Training Program of Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital. In addition, she provides clinical care to children, adolescents, and families in the Child Outpatient Clinic and continues to teach and supervise fellows, residents, and medical students. She is also co-host of the Clay Center podcast Shrinking It Down: Mental Health Made Simple.

Communications Director

Sara Rattigan, MS, is the communications director for The Clay Center for Young Healthy Minds at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), and a public health communicator whose passion is fueled in finding creative approaches to promote behavior change that improves the health and well-being among young people. She oversees the execution of all production efforts supporting the Center’s original multi-media content, social media outreach, speaking engagements, and public relations.

Spenser Egnatz,

Outreach Assistant

Spenser Egnatz is the Youth Outreach Assistant for the Clay Center and supports the team’s efforts in producing and disseminating public educational resources that support the mental health of youth. Spenser is also a Youth Outreach Worker at the MGH Revere Youth Zone where he works directly with teens and supports the after school and summer programing, as well as leading the peer leader program. A recent Boston College graduate with a degree in sociology, Spenser is passionate about supporting and assisting youth populations, especially in relation to their mental and physical wellbeing. In his free time, Spenser is an avid home chef who enjoys traveling and exploring other cultures through their traditional recipes and cuisine.
